XANAX GREEK TASK FORCE
Student leaders across the University of Alabama’s campus came together in the spring of 2018 to create the Xanax Greek Task Force. The goal was to bring awareness and education to first-year college students of the adverse effects Xanax can have when misused.

Managing Director and Founding Member (2019 – 2021)
Stepping into the leadership role as the director of The Xanax Greek Task Force, I created a coalition with 47 Greek presidents to educate the community about the short and long-term effects of Xanax use. I created a personalized resource guide and Powerpoint presentation for presidents to bring back to their chapter. Additionally, I:
•Engaged and educated 3,300+ freshman about Xanax abuse in an eight-week speaker series.
• Increased awareness and understanding by 8 percent, collecting a total of 2,044 survey responses.
• Co-developed 28 unique Xanax depletion plans for individual Greek chapters.
• Directed and produced an educational video that received over 3,500+ views in the first day alone and increased Instagram followers by 74.3 percent.

Madison’s energy and enthusiasm as Director of the Greek Task Force is matched only by her deep dedication and commitment to work for the betterment of all members of the Greek community and all students at The University of Alabama. Her contributions and leadership to continue the important work of the Taskforce have, indeed, been legendary.
